Skybet 1350 Ascot 2nd/3rd place refund

  • On C4 so should be the usual 2nd place offers – Ladbrokes, Hills (mob), etc.

    Any tips? Chris?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Another tough one to pick but I would definitely advise NOT going for the favourite. Unbeaten in jump racing and going for 8 wins in a row, it really should romp home in this race which is Grade 2 and therefore shouldn’t spring any surprises.

I’m going with Desert Queen, has a decent place record and good, solid rating across the various racing outlets. Her stable is in form and have won this race two years running.

    I also went desert queen. Bet365 + Skybet means profit for 1st 2nd 3rd.

Not laid yet. Backed at 8 so hoping the odds shorten tomorrow. Everywhere seems to be tipping this horse so hopefully the odds will only move one way

Not laid yet either but like you i’m confident the odds will shorten tomorrow otherwise I wouldn’t have taken the risk.

The last couple of days I’ve backed horses in the bet365 feature race early morning and laid them only to find if I’d waited I could have laid them for a £25 qualifying profit!!!

Favourite won’t be beaten unless she falls – she goes to Cheltenham in March so this is a good prep race for her with good prize money. Desert queen might not like the ground conditions at ascot tomorrow – aurora destruval has a good place chance but odds poor meantime so wait. She’s a decent mare , changed stables this season to a good trainer and given she is due to run at Cheltenham festival n March they’d be disappointed if she wasn’t placed. For what it’s worth.

Oh dear. Odds are not shortening!! Surely some people are going to back desert queen?!

As usual the odds are fucking terrible on this offer. seems like every time they have one, its shit odds.

    I agree…

The odds have fallen on sky though so I guess it was still better to back them last night

I just backed and layed the favourite in the very slim hope that it will fail to win. outside chance but id rather that than the stress of sitting on my computer for the next 2 hour looking at odds movements. Sometimes its just not worth the effort.

Relax guys, almost 2 hours still to go until the race.

Aye, considering hills and ladbrokes are offering 8.0 currently, 6.5 seems a bit derisory. It might come good nearer to post. Few times I’ve seen back odds increasing while the lay decreased to get a good match ~5 minutes before.

Plenty of time but £200k now matched on betfair. Would have thought the lay would drop a bit from 9.6!

Similarly I’ve a bit more confidence when there’s only a few grand matched, as it tends to be midweek at this time. I’m not sure the lay odds will drop that much but I’d expect the back odds to improve. Will be content to get a 0.5 difference.

For what must be the 6th Saturday in a row, smarkets is having technical problems yet again. Hope this doesn’t affect this race. Think I’m done with them if it does.

Usually I’d wait till the last 10 mins before the off to get all of these bets with various bookies done but for some reason went early with the bookie prices on this and now am in a spot of bother.

Vroum Vroum is holding the market where it is and these nags are drifting instead of shortening… might have to gamble here and keep the match ‘in play’ button ticked….

anyone else in the same boat?
