My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Thanks Mark. I did notice Smad was the strongest of the rest on the markets. I’ll check tomorrow to see if I can lay him for cheaper. If not then I’ll take my chance at €200!

Surely there is a dilemma here. If the lay odds have shortened significantly tomorrow, it would imply that your are more likely to get your £200. Would you still lay him then?

has anyone backed and layed this already? cant decide whether to take 8.0 and 9.4 on smad or whether to wait for odds to move closer. always stressful refreshing skybet and betfair for ages for an extra couple of quid so i might just take the roughly 13 quid profit on these odds. What are others doing?

To be honest, I probably won’t lay him!

So dangerzone, or anyone else with horse knowledge … am I backing and laying Smad at 8.0 and 9.5 for example, then sticking another 3 quid on Smad, for example, at a bookie at 8.0, thus guaranteeing a win? Rarely do horses.

El C – with these offers the way to go is to choose stake not returned in the calculator. By underlaying, if our horse wins the race then we are done with the offer, the profit will be in the skybet account, if it loses then we are down intitially but have the 25 free bet which should then be placed as a normal qualifying bet.

I dont normally do that Gman. My starting point is Risk free bet and put £20 in the cashback bit which is 80% of my £25 stake.

You could just back the favourite straight out and guarantee yourself a healthy profit couldn’t you?

Ok G man …cheers. Was thinking of trying to attain a qualifying loss of 3-4, then stick 2 on the 8.0 to guarantee about 10-12, or use the 25 free to win around 20 odd in the other, minus a 5/6 loss.

People seem to be making this unnecessarily complicated. As Pickle says, treat it as a risk free bet (see matt’s calculator) and you can guarantee £15+ profit by simply underlaying. Safe to assume you’d able to extract at least £20, so put that in the cashback bit.

knew i should have taken smad place at 8.0/9.4 last night. woke up today to see he is now 5.5/9. fucking useless odds.

its so annoying because i dont have the time today to sit in front of my laptop for the next few hours. people keep saying wait til the race is nearly starting. the last three times ive done that ive never found a close match. think i need to start doing these offers the day before.

I believe a few already stated this yesterday, but this was one you could easily put your back on last night and wait till today to put the lay on. even if the odds drifted the wrong way it’s a difficult one to lose money on.
