Tuesday (Day 1) – Chat/Tips/General Thread

  • We had these daily threads last year and they were good craic.

Assuming you have any time at all before and in-between races on what will be a clusterf*ck of a day then post in here to tell us what you fancy, what you’re on and how MASSIVE your profits are!! 😀

I have failed to get any time off work this week, so will be trying my best to get bets on as and when I can. I underestimated just how exhausting these next 4 days are last year (my first MBing the Festival) so good luck to you all! Let’s hope it’s raining free bets!! 😉

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

I would be happy with that Pavlon. I have a sneaky e/w value punt on him.

Lay it off Chris. Underlay to break even if he doesn’t place.

Well, that was a let down 🙁

Would have been so different if Melon had knicked it – hope that’s not a sign of things to come

Got a bit twitchy and laid off too early, inexperience at Eway arbing and laying at the festival got the better of me! Price seemed to be held low by people looking to lay off so was worried of it drifting further and missing it with work calls
Still got a nice arb though

The distance between the exchange and bookie prices is disappointing.

Can’t get close to a match for high 5

What you on about FoG? I’ve got a huge ew arb here. I’ve underlayed for a possible £183 if he places.

bbobb, William Hill odds are the reason for that. Reducing their liability on High 5 offer by offering lower odds. Leave it alone if you cant get anything. Should say though that with this race and such a strong favourite, the odds wont be good on the lay anyway.

And of course he flops. Oh well, day one and all.

Gotta be honest, I can’t get a close match on anything! Very disappointing.

i thought once you get inside the last 10 minutes all bookies move to industry prices.

The difference between the exchange price and the price of the fav so far today is ridiculous.

Was able to get 1.25/1.26… probably wont bother for rest of the day.

anon, what are you trying to get a match on? For which offer. The 2.10 the bookies didn’t give any value on their prices as it was a bad e/w race. Would have left them too exposed to ppl like beesty and supert!

The other races should be better. Or if you are doing something where an e/w bet counts as a qualifier then look at backing e/w to lower QL by picking up an arb on the place part.
