WH horse double boost

  • Horse double 2 first races of the day, says enhanced from 3/1 to 4/1! But actual odds of the double now is 2/1 so it’s a big boost! Can lay off each horse, but they’re so close together might be difficult

    Good spot smoothy17.
should be able to lay this ok if you wanted, just would have to get on the second race pretty sharpish. Alternatively lay both early and if the 1st one loses just cashout of the second? Can’t imagine there would be much movement at that price?

is it possible to lay the double as a special market on bf?

No you have to lay them off individually

Given that the odds have dropped due to non runners I suspect this may happen:

“If the sum of a rule 4 in any race adds up to 15p or more, the bet will be settled as an SP double.”

Yep I think Jeremy is right. Might be settled at much less due to the 3 runners.

Why would they keep it up at 4/1 then now, it’s a bit misleading for people who bet on it now!

Shame. So to the fool who has already put £10 on and layed the first for £11 @1.5 on smarkets what should I do? Lay the second now on bf and cash out as normal and accept the loss?

Do you know what the odds were before that horse pulled out? If it was 9/2 or longer the rule 4 deduction is under 15p so it would be ok, but I’m not sure where to find that out.

Well on the will hill site, it says the double was an enhancement from 3/1 to 4/1.. Now it seems to be 2/1 to 4/1!

Unlikely Jeremy …the horses are 4/9 and evens, so the 4/9 shot was probably still around 8/11 or evs at best.

Afraid not – I will just lay as normal and accept ‘qualifying loss’?

The deduction is calculated using the odds of the horse which pulled out, not the one you backed. Racing post suggests the horse was third fave at 19/1 before it pulled out so I reckon the bet will stand if no one else pulls out, but don’t take my word for it.

Attheraces forecast 14/1 for trans express, so I would assume odds were above the 9/2 you state Jeremy

Ah sorry misunderstood Jeremy. I think it’s unlikely they’d keep it up there if it was going to be affected.
