My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

In terms of connected bookmakers that only allow one sign up offer across brands, I’m only aware of mr.play and BetRegal.

If you haven’t done the BetDukes/BetNeptune/BetScreamer offer yet, you might want to reconsider. Their 10x wagering requirement on any winnings and a maximum conversion of £20 make things very difficult.

There’s nothing wrong with that mindset @sam_69, though it’s also fine to branch out and explore other potential income streams.

The only tipster I’m comfortable recommending is Bet Alchemist as I’m a member of the service myself. They provide each way value tips on the horses. You can read more about the service in my Bet Alchemist review.

Coral have been quiet on the offers front for a long time now, though Betfred churn them out on a pretty regular basis.

It’s always difficult to advise on how to “preserve” an account as there are so many different theories on what works and what doesn’t.

My view is that if you want to blend in come Cheltenham, you should probably place a few horse racing bets between now and then and not necessarily on their 4/1 offer races. I wouldn’t overdo it though as bookmakers will expect more customers to come out of the woodwork anyway for a big festival like Cheltenham.

It’s a trigger bet offer Sam, so you would only get the matched free bet if the trigger occurs. Overlaying would leave you exposed to a greater potential qualifying loss with no guarantees of a free bet.

The only way you can lock in a profit is by laying the trigger, but unfortunately the Star Sports triggers are usually pretty obscure and not layable. For example, this week’s offer is a matched free bet if there’s a goal in the first 10 minutes of Arsenal v Man Utd, which isn’t layable.

    Hi @sam4145.

For the LeoVegas offer, it’s a 100% profit boost, so you can just double your fractional odds when entering your back odds into the calculator. For example, if your back odds are 5/1 (6.00), your doubled odds would be 10/1 (11.00). The higher the odds, the more profit you’ll make, but keep in mind that the maximum boost you can receive is £100.

For the Star Sports offer, I would just treat it as a speculative offer. Place a £50 qualifying bet and hope the trigger comes in for a £50 matched free bet. The trigger changes each week so you can wait for one that you fancy will come in.

    I hope that helps!

There isn’t usually a limit on how many free bets and bonuses you can receive. Without seeing the terms of each offer though, it’s difficult to advise.

This offer passed me by but yes it seems like it was worth a go if your 65p qualifying loss was on one of the favourites to score first.

Obviously, it didn’t pan out with the bore draw, but a profitable offer nonetheless.

Each promotion usually has a specific promotional period @click, that follows on from one to the next.

You’ll see that here with the three promotions they have currently listed…

    Arsenal v Palace… 10/01 13:30 – 14/01 20:00
    Spurs v Rockets… 14/01 20:00 – 16/01 22:00
    Liverpool v Man Utd… 16/01 22:00 – 17/01 16:30

Even with those odds, it would still have been more profitable with Betfair for those that are on their 2% plan.

I think a lot of people are in the habit of laying with Smarkets. There’s not a great deal to choose between the two exchanges. It’s always good to have both armed and ready.

Yes it looks like you’ve made losses on those boosts @click, which is really unfortunate.

There’s a greater risk of postponements at the moment so it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on your bets if you can.

Fortunately for most, the Brentford game was called off in plenty of time for people to cover their liabilities.

    Thanks for posting @tony-g.

Still available at lay odds of 4.90 and 5.10 at Betfair and Smarkets respectively.

    Sorry @tim8rob, missed this.

Yes that was the case, provided you had deposited £10.00+ as per the terms.

The main markets are usually 90 minute markets anyway, so you really shouldn’t have any issues.

When a bookmaker states ’90 minutes’, it basically means that it excludes any potential periods of extra-time and penalties.

Most football matches are played over 90 minutes, but some cup matches go to extra-time if the match is level after 90 minutes.

Let’s say, for example, you bet on Scotland to beat Serbia tonight in the 90 minutes market…

They are level 1-1 after 90 minutes and go on to win 2-1 after extra-time. Even though Scotland have won the match and progressed, your bet would have lost as the match was 1-1 after 90 minutes.

You just need to check that the bookmaker and exchange markets are both 90 minutes markets, which is usually the case.
