10Bet Joshua by KO

  • I’m guessing I’m missing something here, 10Bet has Joshua to win by KO boosted to 4

Smarkets has Method of Victory Joshua by KO, TKO or DQ laying at 1.5, I’m guessing this can’t be the correct market but I can’t see why?

NM I see the error of my ways – it’s laying at 3.9 on Betfair “Joshua by KO”

You need the exact method of victory. Betfair laying AJ by KO at 3.85.

Edit – just seen your edit.

Great value bet that is, 3/1 for a knock out. Every single one of his fights, hes won by KO.

Also they have money back as a free bet up to £20 if the fight goes 12 rounds and your bet (winner, round betting) loses.

TKO doesn’t count though. So not quite as good as it looks on the face of it. Interest bet for me though.

I know next to nothing about boxing – guessing I’m missing something but how does this sound (try to stick with the theory)…?

Back Joshua KO 3/1, Fight to go the distance 4/1 20 max bet on both £20 (10bet boosts) – so say to make it simple £40 stake returns £80 minimum from these two bets (effective odds of 2.0)

Back Parker to win 5/1 on exchange – £14 stake returns £80.

    If Joshua wins by KO… £80 – £40 – £14 = £26 profit
    If Parker wins early… £80 – £40 – £14 = £26 profit
    If fight goes the distance and Parker wins… £80 + £80 – £40 – £14 = £106 profit
    If fight goes the distance and Joshua wins… £80 – £40 – £14 = £26 profit
    If fight goes the distance and draw… £80 – 40 – £14 = £26 profit

Now… If you stick £26 on Joshua by TKO at 2.4 = £36.40

    Joshua KO = £0
    Joshua TKO = £10.40
    Parker early = £0
    Distance and Parker = £80
    Distance and Joshua = £0
    Distance and draw = 0

So you have everything covered for risk free shot at money on a couple of the outcomes… apart from Joshua by disqualification – but this is 120/1 on exchange so you could just back with 10p or something.

(Or on the other hand you could probably just back Joshua to win by KO at 3/1 and win £60 ;) )

Yeah KO is not going to be likely in this fight as Parker is tough as hell and it will more than likely be a stoppage (TKO) rather than KO.

I rarely bet these days but can get 9/1 for Parker by KO/TKO, seems a crazy price as Joshua looks very vulnerable when he gasses and Parker is more than capable of taking advantage if he can survive the first few rounds.

Harris, I think based on that the Joshua KO would return -£20 as the KO win is 3/1 not 4/1…I think anyway haha

…Edit, no think you’re right, ignore me ;)

No the £80 includes the stake in the calculation so have that bit covered – to be perfectly honest i started looking at it and got so far doing the calculations that i thought i had to post it, probably not worth the hassle haha

Parker isnt to be underestimated in this: he’s an extremely good, tough undefeated fighter who is much better than AJ has faced. (Vlad was at the end of his career)
