188Bet – mysterious extra few quid in balance?

  • I dont know if I’m missing something blindingly obvious here, but yesterday I deposited 25 quid into 188bet (account was empty before) to bet on Murray to win the final @1.23.

He did win, so my balance should have now been 30.75. But when I logged in, it said my balance is now just over 35 quid! Absolutely no idea why, looked at the statement etc and it even mentions the figure of 30.75, no reference to this 35.xx figure anywhere!
Even more bizarrely, I tried to withdraw &£35 (188Bet don’t allow penny withdrawal) and it was approved!

Did/has this happened to anyone else? I know it’s only a few quid extra, and I’m certainly not complaining, I’m just puzzled lol

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Well played! My only guess could be some sort of special price boost on it to 2/5 so they honoured your bet at that price. Never any point complaining when you get something for free

The account statement shows no record of this extra money appearing from anywhere, it even shows the bet having settled with stake+profit = £30.75! Very very strange. But yep, as you say, no reason in complaining haha

    Did you check under adjustments?

It could have been a refund for something. I think that they were doing 10% back on net losses for Goodwood.

Um. I seem to have about £20 more than I thought I had in there. Might be just my records out of date but last time I checked my balance I noted a lower figure.

Haven’t been betting with them in a couple of months.

Yup, strangely nothing under adjustments either. Haven’t even used them for a couple of months, and my balance was definitely zero before depositing £25 yesterday purely for use on the Murray match. Very strange!
