Got the £50 offer too, not sure why I am a premier customer or whatever want to call it

My strategy for this is usually to back the favourite each race, so long as qualifying loss is acceptable, unless second favourite qualifying loss is far far better

I do not see the point in backing solely the horse with the best qualifying loss each race

I usually put my lay on first because odds change much quicker on the exchange,I get good lay odds and race over to back odds before they change.Maybe there is a better way?

That’s probably the number one reason to back first. Given that you’re usually betting at odds over evens, the liability will usually be bigger and there’s a potential for a bigger loss. I’ve been done over doing it the other way round, backing with a free bet then not being able to get the lay on before the off. I lost the free bet as it didn’t win but if I had laid (layed?) first it could have been much worse.

Always BACK first. If you lay first and the odds drop at the bookie, you will have then laid too much at the exchange and will have to go back and reduce your liability. That seems like a lot of hassle to me.

Ps. The free bets for this offer get issued today apparently.

Theres also the point that a bookie can limit you without telling you, so you could lay off @ £25 but then find you can only back £7.25 with no time to go elsewhere to back the rest. Very reckless IMO.

It can be very tempting to lay first for the reason given by The wall, but sooner or later you will come unstuck. Look at the £70 loss as the price for a lesson in not doing this again. You will soon get the 70 quid back and I am sure you will not be tempted to do it again.

    Should have backed in play.
