Always Go Back….

• …and check your bet has actually gone through at the bookies.

  Not something I’ve done recently but seeing a number of posts from people starting up it is a worthwhile reminder.

  Some bookies need two clicks to place a bet and some only one and when you are in a hurry it is easy to click ‘place bet’ on a bookie that needs another click on a pop up to go through….

  I only managed it once – at Boyles- but I still remember the feeling of horror when I clicked back to the bookies after the race had finished to withdraw my ‘winnings’ as the 8-1 nag I’d picked to lose had won and the pop up was still sitting there with my bet unplaced…and my exchange lay money was well and truly gone…
