Best odds guaranteed?

Not very clued up on BOG, so would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction with this.

Placed a £10 free bet on Mercers in the 16.35 at Kempton today. Placed with Betfred at 8.36am this morning (so after the 8am BOG cut-off time). Bet placed at 13/2, but he steamed home at 10/1. Fred has only paid me at 13/2. Am I missing something? Is the free bet significant here?

im gubbed with betfred so not sure of there T&Cs but quite often bookies will only pay BOG on real money bets , so the fact you used a Free bet may be why you have not received any extra monies, check there Terms and Cs it should be stated .
