Bet365 and vpn

  • Has anyone managed to use Bet365 with a vpn? I’ve tried purevpn, private internet access and tunnelbear so far with no success. I do have a dedicated uk ip address with purevpn, but that doesn’t work either.

It’s a bit of a bummer as I’ll be Bangkok in two weeks for a few months and I want to continue using Bet365.

I did read about vps, but not sure how to go about that.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

I haven’t tried that one. Live chat confirmed that you can use the site in Thailand, no problems, solved one problem, another account could be tricky if I can’t get a vpn to work here in the UK.

Got some info from bet365 chat on vpn use

You are not able to use a VPN, this is due to is scrambling your location.
Due to very strict licensing laws that we must adhere to we are unable to permit our players to use a VPN.

I can also vouch for Bet365 viewing and working perfectly with StrongVPN

Does the IP address need to be in the same city as the physical address that you specified when creating the account?
Let’s say that the physical address that I created my account with is Ireland – Cork City, but the VPN only provides me with IPs from Ireland – Dublin.
If I use IPs from Dublin will I get gubbed from the bookies because it does not correspond to the physical address that I used when I created the account? (Cork City)

Once I get gubbed by Bet365, I may start “assisting” friends and relatives in making bets on their B365 accounts*. I’m vaguely aware that the IP address will be an issue if any bets are placed from my computer/home.

Does anybody know whether StrongVPN (or something else) could be the solution to this? ie can I pay for some service that would give me an IP address appropriate for my dear old nan, who lives in a different town.

    Grateful for any input…

    *which they haven’t opened yet.

    @Mr Crispy

Buy this router: https://www.maplin.ie/p/netgear-r7000-nighthawk-ac1900-wireless-cable-router-a35ng and install it at your nan’s house. Then use OpenVPN to connect to it.

Thanks for the tip Graureg…will look into it.

PS is this something that someone who isn’t particularly tech savvy (ie me) has a reasonable chance of setting up?

Mr Crispy to be honest, the answer is no. You should ask a friend for help or search the internet on how to install the router.

I can help you with setting up OpenVPN:

I used the link above to set up VPN. If you have difficulties in understanding the steps that are described in the link, you should ask a friend who is tech savvy for help.

    Good luck 🙂

Thanks for this graureg – very helpful.
I’ll see if any of my techie friends are up to the challenge and let you know if I manage it!
