My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

When he gets through this Round hopefully his lay will come down. There are a good number of seeds dropping already so that will play up his chances, in my opinion.

I think that this Dave Gilbert guy is doing really well, don’t think it was expected. He is pushing Ronnie closer than the bookies expected.

    Ronnie is just warming up!

Just read the ts & cs for this again, now says maximum refund is £20?? That wasn’t there before I don’t think! My qualifying loss is £18!!

How and why did you manage an £18 qualifying loss?

Is this not a different offer you’re looking at? There is one now on the homepage regarding century breaks in last frame – refund free bet on losing bets max of £20

£18 quali loss is from backing/laying O Sullivan with £100.

The offer is no longer up, so you are looking at the wrong one.

Ah right, apologies, my mistake! It was from o’sullivan, he should hopefully hammer that qualifying loss with centuries.

Thats a crazy qualifying loss, I also put £100 on O’Sullivan at 2.63 but waiting for first round matches to finish as those lay odds come down.

I cant remember when free bets are supposed to be credited. Pretty sure Ronnie got one century break in his first round match that finished yesterday.

Supposed to be by 11.00 a.m. the day after the century according to the original post on here

Oh dear. I went for Robertson, haha! Looks likely to go 4-0 down and has hardly had a double figures break let alone a century. Good luck all those on Ronnie, a much safer bet!

You can lay Ronnie at 2.88 now which is a qualifying loss of less than £10 if you got him at 2.63 like me.

Chris, I haven’t laid him yet either but just to be clear that was taking a gamble if Gilbert beat him then obviously we would be down £100. That would be crazy compared to the £18 qualifying loss that tonyr took which is the safe approach.

I think/hope that he will hit about 10 so definitely covers tony’s QL and money for us all!

Not sure where his mind is at though, he missed a media obligation apparently and will be sanctioned for it. Gilbert played well, but Ronnie broke down a few times when it looked like he was on for a century. One century in 17 frames is a bit below par considering some of the bookie’s had him at 5/1 for a century for the first frame (and I assume as likely in any frame).

Anyway, main thing is that he went through (others haven’t Bingham, Murphy) and his lay has gone down slightly.

I’m considering not laying him again, I have a free £20 bet on BetStars that I can back his opponent in the next round so that it will cancel out the £100 loss on BetBright if he loses.

Neil Robertson, who was 2nd fav this morning, is 3-0 down it looks too.

It was a very low risk gamble and one that was worth taking due to his first round match being scheduled early. Those lay odds are already down to 2.84 now helped by the fact that Robertson is losing and I’m sure if he does go out in the first round, those odds will crash down close to the 2.62 we backed him at.

Infact if you stuck 2.74 in now I’m sure it will be matched.

Ronnie has been out of love with the game for a long time so always looks like he cant be bothered or doesnt want to try. I was surprised he only got one century break in the first round but I think he will pick up and improve.

Yes I hope he picks up and improves too. Not just because I have money on him.

    Anyway free bets are in!
