Betfair – Back a winner get a free bet

  • Their horse racing offer is back. Bet on a horse at odds of 3/1 or greater, get a free bet to the value of your stake if they win.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Indeed offers have dried up since Cheltenham. Think the bookies took a real hammering from matchedbetters / punters. Also think bookies are concentrating / marketing towards euros. Hoping it picks up during them.

Well, judging by the offers that have put out so far all you will be gaining on the euro’s is a bucket load of liability. If i see another ‘bet on an outright and if an asteroid hits earth you get a free bet’ offer I may just lose the plot.

I hope there’s some better offers going when this starts. To me it looks like these offers are being designed specifically to be unappealing to matchbetting. I’m not expecting much to be honest, I wouldn’t get your hopes up.

I’ve noticed most of the Euro2016 offers will have liability in the exchange for up to a month, in return you will get a £5 free bet when your team or teams win.

I like quick returns for a free bet, it keeps the money flowing better. Not sure I want £400 or £500 tied up for a month for 4 or 5 teams in the Euros.

Your liability will only be as large as the team with the longest odds to win

If you were to back England at 10.0 at Betfair and 10.5 on Betdaq, £25 for the bet and £227.34 in liability, that’s just one team for a £5 free bet. Maybe France and Germany, still works out roughly the same. How many free bets will you get, 3 or 4 or 5 maybe over a month, not really worth it.

Hopefully they will be lots of inplay offers when the tournament starts.

Sy and Farang, totally agree with you both, some of the offers are so far away from appealing you wouldnt believe.

Also I guess youd know this but for anyone who doesn’t, if you put multiple lays against different outcomes on smarkets then your liabilities net off against each other and cash gets released back into your available balance. Means the more offers you do (so long as it’s always a different team you bet on) the lower your month long liability will be.

Finally, I only started MBing a couple of months ago, but remember being happy as a punter when I heard that bookies had the worst Cheltenham festival of all time. Always thought gambling outlets are a dirty way to prey on the vulnerable so am happy whenever they make losses. Now I’m a MBer, kinda wish they hadn’t had it quite so bad so they didn’t tighten their belts so much!

This offer has been available once a week for at least the past year; it’s never gone away.
