Betfair – Beat The Drop

  • Anyone tried this? – beatthedrop.betfair.com

A bit like Davina McCall’s ‘£1m Drop’ on C4 a few years ago.

You start with £1m and you have to basically get through 20 ‘yes/no’ scenarios moving your money to one answer or the other.

So as an example – Q1 | Man Utd v Leicester City | ‘Will there be goal in the first 28 Minutes?’

£750,000 on NO and £250,000 on YES. If there is a goal in the first 28mins, I take £750k to the next question but lose £250. ect.

It’s scaleable – so the cost of the initial ticket/bet/entry + the number of questions = the starting pot.

    – £2 ticket with 10 questions = £1,250 POT
    – £2 ticket with 20 questions – £760,000 POT
    – £50 ticket with 10 questions = £34,000 POT
    – £50 ticket with 16 Questions = £1,000,000 POT

    etc.

Is it beatable, is there any value here at all?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

    No, No

They gave everyone a free go at IIRC

I didn’t even bother checking to see if I won my first question.

Try tossing a coin and winning 7 or 8 in a row… see how long it takes you.

Yeah they try to make every selection a 50/50 shot, you can work out if there’s any value by working out what would happen if you split your money in half each time. If you play the £50 with 16 questions you get down to to just over £15 on each answer by the 16th question.. so bad value…

Paddy Power did it before the World Cup for free (20 questions), I still had my million after 4 or 5 questions, then I went for over 2.5 goals in the Iceland-Argentina match and Messi let me down…
