  • Is back!… for those who dabble innit ??

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

So the page I was looking at doesn’t give any figures as yet to what kind of cash you’ll get for points accrued.

As a smarkets user, I’m wondering if it’s worth the extra commission – for a £5000 turnover on the exchange, I’m paying £150 more commission on betfair, correct? Could could I expect to get more than that back for that ballpark turnover?

Nice one Tony, when I saw the thread I thought it had to be an old one, said that they couldn’t be having another one so soon after the last. Great news, cheers!

Hi I have never heard of the cash race before and just read up on it then, would you advise doing the cash race (is it less profitable than smarkets) and what kind of money targets do you get?

@jamiestansbie… it depends really, I personally never use smarkets and betfair is my trusted exchange of choice, although the commission is more the markets and platform superiority far outway that of smarkets!… Cash Race for me and many others who use Betfair is kind of a little reward scheme where the more commission you pay the bigger the prize… in a nutshell it’s decent, prizes and points differ from user to user… if it’s your first time you will have a very modest target but the payouts won’t be so high!… my tier 3 prize is £125 but I’ve gotta feed them massive amounts to hit it!… that said am gonna give it a bloody good go

I use Smarkets, and the commission increase is not worth it for me to bother trying (unless the market is only found on Betfair) in which case I probably won’t accrue enough points anyway.

I’ve said this before but if you are placing bets worth say £3000 a day your winnings will be very similar overall…the extra 3% commission is £90 a day or £32k a year LOL

How anyone can pay £32k because they prefer a platform is be-ond me

If you use Betfair enough the commission is heavily discounted. Back in the day, my commission rate on Betfair was 2.5%, but I don’t do quite the same volumes any more.

As others have said I only use BF for markets that Smarkets (great rhyme!) don’t offer and also for my sequential lay guaranteed profit Accas so that I can cash out when my bet has a strong probability of losing ( happens quite a lot as I am betting against a team with winning odds of between 1.03 and 1.2)

I didn’t take much notice of cash race when it launched, but I have just checked and I am 2% off my fist target.

My question is, if target 1 says you will receive £18 and target 2 £24, when you hit target 2 do you receive an additional £24 or the difference between £18 and £24 (£6)?

I was on chat so thought I’d ask. They confirmed you only get the highest target you hit.

The points target between tier 2 and 3 is much less than the initial one though…
