Betfair Exchange offer – check emails

  • Found this lurking in my junk mail so worth a check of yours! It does mention invite only so apologies if you don’t get it. When I clicked through the email to the T&Cs they stated the wrong dates but I imagine it should be fine as bookies seem to copy and paste T&Cs a lot.

I’d be interested if anyone has received it whether they think the bets have to be back bets or not? If so, I guess the best method to guarantee a profit would be to artificially boost the back odds by 50% i.e. 2.0 to 2.5 then lay at say 2.02 or whatever is available on Smarkets? Commission will make slight adjustments but not too bothered about that.

    The email states:
    “100% Bonus
Place Exchange bets on any sports taking place between 23-25 January and get a 100% bonus on net winnings up to £50.

*You must place Exchange bets on any sports taking place between 10:00 GMT 23/01/2018 and 23:59 GMT 25/01/2018. Bets must be placed and settled within the promotional period. If you are eligible for a bonus, your Betfair account will be credited by 13:00 GMT on 26/01/2018”

Then the T&Cs when clicked through state with teh incorrect dates:
    “Can I take part?

You can only take part if you have been invited to participate directly by Betfair.

You can take part only through one account, and using only the username mentioned in your message.

What do I need to do?

You need to place Exchange bets on any sport taking place from 10:00 GMT 12/01/2018 to 23:59 GMT 14/01/2018 (the promotional period).

Your bets must be on the Exchange, and bets must be placed and settled during the promotional period.

Fixed Odds and Multiples bets do not count for the purposes of this promotion. Bets must be matched and settled to count.

    What’s the offer?

If you place your bets as set out above, and you make a profit across your qualifying bets in the promotional period, we will credit you with a bonus of 100% of those winnings, up to a maximum of the amount mentioned in your email.

If you make a net loss on your qualifying bets, you won’t be eligible for a bonus.

Your net position is calculated after commission is taken into account.

    When will I be credited?

If you are eligible for a bonus, your Betfair account will be credited by 13:00 GMT on 15/01/2018.”

    Thanks

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

I got this but £100. Had it quite a few times great offer.

Think you’re over thinking it though just back a team with very low odds on betfair exchange so that after the commission you win £100.

The other night i put £390 on man city to win lay’d at smarkets (as you’re backing and laying on both exchanges odds are pretty much identical its just the commission that causes a qualifying loss)

Of course if your team wins (which odds are in your favour it should) happy days. If not you just have to stake a bit more on another game say that you end up in a net profit situation.

Granted if you’re first team doesnt win the qualifying loss and then another qualifying loss eats at your profit but its the method i prefer.

Thanks Ryan, my post came after a shocker of a long day at work so wasn’t thinking straight!

The 50% increase in odds would have been nonsense I think but what I think would have been correct would have been to assume double the odds with my first bet at Betfair and treat it as a big arb and lay it on Smarkets. That way, if I win at Betfair, I’ve got the bonus but if I don’t I’ve still made profit into Smarkets. If the first bet loses then adjust the stake and odds on a second bet such that I either have a net profit at Betfair or make another profit at Smarkets because it will still be an arb, although likely a smaller arb relative to the difference in odds. The best result would probably be to lose all the back bets because the bonus I could make at Betfair would be capped whereas it would be unlimited at Smarkets.

    I think…..

Anyway, I didn’t get around to using it but if I get the offer again I’ll give it more thought and have a go!
    Thanks
