Betfair Sportsbook v Betfair Exchange

  • Betfair Sportsbook is offering odds of 7.0 that a penalty will be awarded in tonight’s Swansea v Watford match, whilst the lay price at their own Exchange is a mere 5.4

Probably a REALLY stupid question, but has anyone ever backed and layed on Betfair, like this?

Max stake for the enhanced Sportsbook odds is £25, so this effectively offers an arb worth £6.08, but will it lead to an immediate restriction? If so, just from their Sportsbook?

Obviously other exchanges are available, but the only other one I use is Smarkets who do not have a “Penalty awarded” market.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Have no idea if it will get you banned but I know of a few people who are banned from sports book but not the exchange

maybe find a bookie match to dutch? Hills are 1.15 for no pen, so no good, maybe need about 1.25 for it to be worthwhile

To be honest, I have *never* used the Betfair sportsbook, so I really wouldn’t miss it if I was banned, however, for the sake of £6 I think I would rather hold onto the account in case something more fruitful comes up in future (i.e. Cheltenham Festival, etc…)

Tony – Both me and my mate got the early bath from Sportsbook after using it for only a few weeks. This was years ago but I still use the exchange constantly. No real reason was offered for the ban – well before my matched betting days!! Not a great loss really.

Thanks for the tip off Tony, I did the £6.08 arb,no ban as of yet from the sportsbook,it may of helped that it won on the exchange(there was no penalty).
