It’s of course fine to guarantee a profit and the spot is good etc. etc.
I am just wondering why you think shorter races are more of a lottery? If the market is efficient, a horse that is 3.75 in a 5 furlong race has the same chance of winning as a horse that is 3.75 in a 3 mile race.

I didn’t mention market efficiency, merely that sprints have a lower % of winning favourites.

Hence when the offer needs the favourite to win it makes sense not to have all your eggs in that basket, as your winning chance is decreased compared to the same offer on a longer race

Oh, I see. I thought you were referring to your decision to lay off the Betfred price boost (which is odds dependent). I didn’t realise you meant for another offer. My apologies.

EDIT: Wait, I still have no idea what your logic is. The offer is related to the favourite winning? Like I said, the fact that the race is short shouldn’t come into your decision – only the odds.
