Bookie is asking for bank statements when I went to withdraw ‘winnings’
-
I started arbing with them as I’d already been gubbed by them. Unfortunately I ended up with a sizeable amount of money in the account, and upon withdrawing some of it they’ve asked for a bunch of checks. Passed all except they want a full bank statement. Ive sent single transaction statements of deposits but they wont accept it, and ive just sent over a redacted one with no response. What will happen if they see the unredacted statement full of bookies and smarkets deposits etc that will clearly label me a matched bettor. Can they confiscate winnings? Any help appreciated

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

How did it go Purple Streak? It is so long since I had a healthy bookie account but, in the past, whenever I got hit with a ‘request’ at withdrawal I gave them what I felt was reasonable and the moment they came back for more I threatened them re their licence. (My experience may be out of date now so ai it!!).
“A bookie’s licence states they cannot delay a withdrawal request unreasonably.
Again though, they do, often asking for more verification documents.
The UK Gambling Commission take a very dim view of this”.+0In the end I sent the full unredacted bank statement. They immediately closed all the accounts I had with them on their network but thankfully they sent me the full money I had in the account, so not a bad result
