Betstars Email

  • Hi all,

I’ve received the following email from Betstars tonight so might be worth checking your junk for as that’s where I found it. I think I’ve seen posts on here where the offer is slightly different for different people though. Either way, the last sentence seems to imply it’s a new customer welcome offer so does anyone have any thoughts?! I obviously already have an account with them so not sure if it was sent in error or not!

“Bet $/£/€10 (minimum odds: 2.0) and we’ll give you $/£/€20 in Free Bets!

With a bevy of events to choose from, including the Champions League second-leg between Napoli and holders Real Madrid, you’re spoilt for choice.

Madrid control the tie with a 3-1 lead, courtesy of goals from Casemiro, Toni Kroos and a fifth in four consecutive Champions League games for Karim Benzema. Could he open the scoring again in Naples?

Despite the advantage, Los Blancos failure to keep a clean sheet for an eighth successive European match is an issue for the reigning champions. Could both teams to score also look like good value for your first bet?

Remember, you can bet on anything you like and we’ll welcome you to BetStars with $/£/€20 in Free Bets – so check out all our markets today!”

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Yep, I got this am well… Not sure what to make of it? Think I will bet the tenna and lay it off, then see if the £20 free bet hits the account? Also not sure if the free bet is solely for Real Madrid match?!?

I’ll certainly bet the £10 for a small QL so it’s worth a go but I thought I’d point out the ‘welcome’ sentence just in case! Having said that, I’d expect the email to have something specifically mentioning new customers only if that was the case and there is nothing in the text or graphics so presume it’s valid.

I too got this email and was confused….!? Is it only for ‘new customers’ and can it be used on anything other than the real Madrid game!?

    What is everyone else doing?

I’ve received two e-mails from them tonight, the one above and the usual Bet £X Get £y, for the Madrid match.

The first one looks like an error, but you never know with Poker/Bet Stars, probably worth a shot if you can get a small qualifying loss.

I got the free £20 if bet £10 email. Looking into it it seems a mistake, if you go to their promos area the offer is there but says if you are existing customer you need to opt in via challenge window, and offer isn’t there for me. Good luck if anyone gets the free bets, gotta be worth it for small QL.

i’ve gone ahead and placed mine on napoli 2.85, laid it off on betfair at 2.94 with a ql of 63p.

It’s on the real madrid game and above the minimum 2.0 required odds.

For 63p it’s worth a punt, and if the free bet isn’t credited worth a complaint?

I placed mine on Bayern 2.10 layed on Smarkets 2.12. Will phone them if no free bet is added.

I received this exact same email 2 weeks ago (and again tonight), suggestive of it being a new customer offer. I figured it was worth the small QL to see what would happen, and sure enough, was awarded the free bets the day after the bet settled. Fingers crossed.

    @bluemoon – what’s a challenge window?

@sleepless Chellenge window is a feature in the Pokerstars desktop software – I’m assuming it shows up there to opt into if you’ve never made a sports bet before (not showing there for me btw)

    Already did…. both lost.

Once the bet has been accepted they would have a hard time turning down payment (you could claim that you would have used real money if the Free Bet wasn’t available) .

So you have the FB before your qualyfying bet has settled? Placed a tenner on real, QL of 37p. See what happens.
