Betway – Djokovic/S Williams Aussie Open double – 10.0

  • Today’s January Sales offer is Djokovic and Serena Williams to win their respective Aussie Open titles at 10.0 (my max was £10 but YMMV)

    Current lay prices on Betfair a 1.78 and 4.6, giving a real lay price of 8.2 for the double. Obviously these lay prices will only drop as both players progress through the tournament (moreso Williams’ price obv). If you fully underlayed it now it would be a free shot at £15.24 profit, but personally I will be waiting until a lot deeper in to the tournament to sort my lay bets out.

    Betfair also have a “Winning Double” market where you could place a single lay bet on them as a combo, but there isn’t much liquidity just now and the odds would most likely be worse than laying separately. That market is going in play too, along with the individual winner markets, so keep an eye on both.

    On the “Winning Double” market yes, but as advised in my OP, there is hardly any liquidity in that market yet, so I wouldn’t take that price as gospel.

    Don’t bother with it if you feel there is no value, I was only trying to help fellow members out tbh

    You would have to lay them sequentially (women’s tourney finishes first), or just use the “Winning Double” market on Betfair, where the current lay odds are 2.7

    Presuming you took the £10 max at Betway you could lock in £25 profit now via the Winning Double market, or maybe wait until after the Djokovic match finishes (currently 2-0 up in sets) for a presumably higher profit. Alternatively, at current odds you could fully underlay for £72.10 profit on both winning, with no loss if either does not.

    I have seen a few posts lately poo-pooing this kind of approach as it is obviously not risk free (i.e. yes, it IS gambling), but to be honest with a rising 4 figure profit log I am more than happy to take the occasional ‘punt’ on certain events, like this offer, or some of the +EV NBA accas.
