Bonus Funds Confiscated
-
Hi,
New to the forum but been matched betting for a while. I have accounts in both my name and my mums name (different addresses etc). Anyway was offered a 50% deposit bonus from Betsafe earlier in the week for both accounts and tried them. One account won in the exchange, the other (my mum) won with Betsafe and had to be rolled over. Spoke to a guy on chat and he said I had met the rollover and funds were free so i put in a withdrawal request for £600+. Came home tonight to an email saying withdrawal had been cancelled, winnings forfeited and account closed due to breaching term 12.1.
Anybody ever had an issues like this before/reported to IBAS/MGA/ASA and had any luck? All advice welcome. I understand probably stupid on my part to accept both offers on both accounts due to family name.

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

12.1 Any Bonus is only available once per person, family, household, address, e-mail address, credit card number, bank account, telephone number, computer/device and / or IP address.
Can’t see how your Mum’s name can violate the clause alone. Something else must have been the same.
+0I would try to resolve with the bookie before escalating it.
Your mom will probably need to talk to them and be able to answer questions on her betting activity like last bet etc.
It’s dodgy ground though once you start multi accounting. Hope it gets resolved.
+0Thanks for the replies. I have sent an email to Betsafe but not hopeful on response or it being resolved. I’ve had both accounts for nearly 2 years but maybe i made a mistake this time. Made sure to use a phone and laptop, but maybe my phone was connected to same wifi this time.
Not sure how terms and conditions work re winings however. Surely £100 deposit + 50 bonus, placed on Monaco at odds of 5.55 = £555 of my own money? Although I suppose they argue that all money becomes bonus money after initial deposit. Does wind me up that they can claim they only check whether you are in fact eligible for a bonus when it comes to withdrawing winnings.
Thanks, will update if i have any luck.
+0You’ve been using both accounts for 2 years – so this was a re-load invitation byBetsafe, not a new customer sign-up?. Was there a balance in either account before the offer?.
This is very strange.
+0Well one for 2 years, the other for around 6-8 months. Yeah it was a reload email i had sent to me on Tuesday. No balance in either account at the time. Has scared me off of any deposit+bonus offers for now.
+0I think you might be in a sticky place if it says bonus once per family member, and you’ve ‘both’ done the reload at the same time after not using the account for a while.
As fog suggested getting your mum to contact them is probably best bet. She’s probably best off denying she knows you have an account, and saying your whole family likes a gamble…. seems multi accounting alone isn’t the issue with the family member clause, but you can’t rule out family coincidence if several ppl bet+0Yeah even if they argue that only one bonus per family member. I see no reason why the £100 real money bet on Monaco shouldn’t be honoured. Surely should be the bonus part that is void.

Right, my names Smith and I go to Wetherspoons and have a bet, Unknown to me there’s another gut there named Smith. He bets on same popular football match. We both get bonus funds confidcated as same family.
