Bookie overpaid me!

  • Hey,

I seem to have been overpaid for one of my bets from the bookie earlier.

Was £25 on a horse to win at odds of 2.75, the horse won and I ended up with £93.75 returned. Looks like they’ve paid me out at 3.75 instead!?

I don’t believe there was a movement in odds though as the betslip only states the odds of 2.75.

Should I contact them and let them know/ask them on live chat? I feel that’s the right thing to do, but I don’t want to draw attention to my account. Have people had experience of this happening before?

    Cheers,

    Eskander

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Which horse, in which race? Probably Best Odds Guaranteed.

    Hey Lewi,

It was Pawn Star in the 16:45 at Market Rasen.

I actually betted on that horse and race by accident. I wasn’t paying attention and was supposed to bet a different horse in the 16:35 at Chester! Only realised about 5 minutes before that race that I’d layed a horse but not backed it so was slight brown trouser time.

Was tempted to leave Pawn Star unlayed as it was the clear favourite, but still new to this and thought it would be better safe than sorry. At this time though the lay odds were 3.85 so had to either take a nasty £7.41 loss or risk the full £25, opted for the loss but now that’s turned into a profit of £17.60!

    Lesson learned – Pay Attention!

Yeah, basically the lesson is to pay attention but don’t worry about it. You took a price of 2.75 and the horse had an SP (starting price) of 3.5. The bookie you bet with prob had a BOG+ offer on (that is best odds guaranteed plus) which meant you you got paid at the better of the price you took and the starting price plus. (Which bookie by the way?) Anyway, no need to contact LC – just one of the occasional perks of MBing.

All makes sense, as mistakes go that wasn’t the worst one to make. Was reading through the Chester thread earlier and am nothing on you guys, but happy with my £45 of free bets that I’ve hit today in these early stages of my MB career!

Like how you ask which bookie then proceed to say which one!

Thank you for taking the time to explain it, much appreciated 🙂
