Bwin festive free bets! Up to £100

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Most of the sites I’m gubbec with seem to have a max win of about £30.

For a £50 free bet you’ll need to gamble with an odds on shot.

My plan was to get as many as I could off the other day then finish the job on the boxing day football fixtures. Been away from the Internet today so only just caught up with this mess. Ended up with the £5 free bet. I’m risk averse so I basically laid anything that had a 12p QL or lower. I managed 21 bets. I didn’t follow the bets that closely but every one was below a 12p QL… Many were under 10p I underlaid the £5 FB to guarantee £3 (which lost) and will be marking this one as a push. Will be weary of Bwin from now on.

Pastcarin what they’ve done is limit the amount I can bet, not what I can win which as you say is normal. So I can’t even put my £50 on a 1.2 shot as it limits the stakes.

So they have knowingly given me an FB I can’t use by limiting my stakes (not an issue before) to just a couple for quid less than the FB.

Their terms say that maxium bets are set according to the maximum win, so it’s not even right by their own terms.

Hate to say it but I have to agree with the consensus that this was complete incompetence from the start. I reckon the marketing dept didn’t quite get the numbers right and they’ve had to pull in the financial anchors and are in exposure recovery mode.

Loss from reputational damage doesn’t matter much to bookies.

So for anyone following this that’s in the same position, here’s what I got from live chat:

    – no admission that restricting stakes rather than winnings is against thier own information as to how maximums are calculated

    – they told me that the limit was imposed before the free bet was issued but they refused to tell me how long before, so draw your own conculsions

    – they helpfully (I think) suggested that I use it on a multiple as my limits are higher, suppose this is something but my suggestion that 2 x £25 fb’s would be fairer was ignored

So I’m off to find a sequential double. What a carry on.

You’ve got to ask yourself if all the stress and agro is worth it for such small returns.

I managed to extract £39 out of the £50 free bet, prob could have got more if I’d waited a few days but thought it best to get rid asap.

£50 is £50. That covers a decent bottle of wine for Christmas dinner.

As it happens I got it in the end, and it’s worth if it it helps other people for whom it may be as or more important than Christmas.

Also I wasn’t aware that this was a forum for discussing matched betting except for Christmas, bank holidays, thanksgiving, Yom Kippur or during Ramadan.

Actually that last one is probably a bad example but you get the point.
