Calculating lay stakes on Matchbook

  • I’m trying to work out how to calculate lay stakes for Matchbook using a matched betting calculator.

Seems to me that it wouldn’t be possible to be sure of the Q/L, seeing as commission is charged on both winning and losing markets.

Should I put account for 1.7% commission (the rate for bets when you take a price that’s already available) or something else?

Any help would be much appreciated!

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Not possible unless you’re a mathematical genius. It is highly complicated. On top of that it takes a minute or 2 to work out the stakes before you place the bet at matchbook and by that time the odds move and you have to start again.

My advice is to use smarkets. 2% is cheaper and easier than messing about paying commission on wins and losses at matchbook. Plus matchbook staff are a bunch of total toss pots.

Thanks @Tony G I have been using Smarkets for a while now but was just curious about Matchbook as the commission rate is supposedly less.
