Can asking 1 bookie to close account affect sign-up/accounts with other bookies?

  • I have had two bookies make it either worthless or impossible for me to use my accounts as soon as I registered (specifically William Hill and 888 Sport).

As I don’t really like the idea of a company retaining my information indefinitely when there is no need for them to do so (especially the sensitive documents William Hill had me send), I would like to ask them both to close my accounts.

However, I noticed that a few bookies appear to fall under the same umbrella (for instance, multiple deposits show as “Gala Spins” on my statement rather than the specific bookie).

So, does anyone know whether asking for those accounts to be closed would/could affect my accounts at / ability to register with other bookies?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

    Hi there,

If you have a restricted account, partnering brands will likely restrict your account upon signing up with them, so I don’t know that closing an account makes a difference.

888sport acquired William Hill earlier this year, so that could be why you’ve been restricted with both brands. I think Gala are part of the same Group as Coral and Ladbrokes.

    I hope that helps.
