as far as im aware you can use it on any bet, i tend to go for the longer odds so the money ends up in the exchange when layed

Not really, as bets on that market will be voided if it is a draw. You would have to check the T&Cs of the offer, but I don’t think you would get the free bet back to use again if it were voided, so you would have effectively wasted it and could be out of pocket depending on what action you had taken at the exchange
