Why the Asian Handicap to lay? Just Chelsea -2 is sufficient?

No, Chelsea -2 would mean if Chelsea then won by exactly 2 goals, you would only get your stake at betfair back, and lose your bet at Coral.

My understanding is that Chelsea -2 and Chelsea winning exactly by 2 doesn’t mean stake just the bet loses so laying -2 would be a winning lay. If you were to back -2 and the team win by 2 goals with any bookie would be a loss so surely laying would be the the opposite?

Correct, but also entirely the same if you had used the -2.5 Asian Handicap market, no? You would STILL lose your Coral bet and win your Betfair lay stake, wouldn’t you?

If the lay odds were better on the Asian Handicaps then I could understand using them, otherwise the straight up “Team A -2” market serve precisely the same purpose when the bookie bet is termed “Team A to win by 3 goals or more”.

This is why it’s easier to just say -2.5
No confusion with the decimal point.

No, you get your stake at Betfair back, i.e. You would be net zero for that market. But minus stake at Coral.
