Horse up at 21.0 with bookie, laying at 22.0 on win market and 5.3 on place market. Went to each way market on the exchange at it is available to lay at 20.0, which seems to be a much better option.
Am I missing something obvious here?

What were the place terms at the bookie and what were the place terms at the exchange?
ie was the bookie paying 4 places 1/5 odds.. and the exchange paying 3 places 1/4 odds…
You might not be missing anything, sometimes there is better value in laying the ew market at the exchange…
Well spotted – 1/5 vs 1/4 was the answer. So would have been a little down if it had finished 2nd or 3rd.
