Got a 25 free bet on von trappe in the 400…matched at odds of 29/29 half hour before the off. That’s an example of what can be done and what I do or how I roll
Also got 20 quid bog on the 330 winner so with my losses about 20 quid up on the day. Not great but not awful

We all know he exaggerates, we all know there’s SOME value in this but as a forum for matched betting isn’t it important to keep the context. Amusing though it would be to imagine some of the newbie ‘give me free cash’ users doing it, we also wouldn’t end up with the next cycle of matched bettors if they’re all wasting hours effectively chasing tiny arbs for occasional freebets before getting accounts blocked…. as the primary basis of this is arbing which a lot of ppl acknowledge is a fast way to getting shut down

I’ve been reading this thread with interest and can understand why so many are dubious about the claims being made. Let’s have a look at today at 3 meetings featuring a mix of chases and hurdles across 21 races and 192 runners.
Musselburgh – No Fallers – 41 runners in total
Punchestown 2:00 – The Crafty Butcher 4/1f (20 ran) Form: 21-732
Punchestown 4:00 – Captain Von Trappe 16/1 (15 ran) Form: 3FF505
Punchestown 4:00 – Georges Conn 16/1 (15 ran) Form: P3602
Taunton 3:50 – Roadie Joe 25/1 – Faller (10 ran) Form: F-51P7
Taunton 3:50 – Here’s Herbie 12/1 – Unseated (10 ran) Form: 1-7372
Taunton 4:20 – Sykes 7/1 – Faller 9 (7 ran) Form: -F8216
Taunton 4:50 – Scales 9/2 – Unseated (16 ran) Form: 688-83
Taunton 4:50 – New Venture 20/1 – Unseated (16 ran) Form: /56-PP8/192 = 4.2% of runners fell, so roughly 24/1 if picking a horse at random.
Having had a quick scan of the forms, only Captain Von Trappe stood out with a couple of falls if going by history.
Of those horses 5 were at an SP of 10/1 and above, so you would be likely to have a large spread between the bookie and exchange, not making it worthwhile, unless you can get an arb.
Of the other three, one was favourite, one was 2nd favourite and one was 4th favourite.
Could you have an effective strategy for this offer? In a simple word – No.
Any QL would be unacceptable for me as the chances of picking a faller are low. This is more of a hit and hope offer so use it to insure the favourite/2nd favourite to keep QLs down or if you get an arb on a longer odds horse.
Unless I see an audited set of bets, in my personal experience I have been picking closely matched horses or arbs on BetStars and this offer has only come in twice, so a nice bonus when it does but not one to focus on.

I’ve done well off it but not great this weekend…guess its one to just keep to myself and people seem to fetch their backs up over it
It has make me think maybe I got lucky in recent weeks tho and before that maybe the high 5 promo was carrying this one (eg. If I win 30 on this and 150 on high 5 from a mornings work it seems both are good but just 30 from this maybe not so much)
Think I’ll carry on going with this up to Cheltenham as had success and also have limited lines left open to me (out of the many nfl freebies I can only take advantage of one)

Good post oddbet. I had figured 7-8% fallers in 2015 with the number of fallers falling year on year. Which would make sense as its bound to be a priority to make the sport safer. Which is another reason I don’t like this promo, I can’t bring myself to hope for a faller ….

Good point fog and oddbet tho I do still believe this weekend vs the past few months has been a freak one. 5/8 of the fallers were hurdles too!! Remember I’m only backing chase races so generally more likely (tho not today!)
