Free bet v risk free

  • Hi,

Firstly apologies if this has been asked, can’t find an answer on the forum or in the guides.

Is there a difference in approach when getting value from a risk free bet as opposed to a free bet? I’ve done most of the free bets and now I’m starting on risk free.

Should I just lay my stake off and hope that my bet wins? Then if it loses I’m break even-ish and just lay the free bet as normal? Or is there a better way?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

I always punt it for a break even or profit situation… Others prefer to lock in a small profit but I believe it works out about the same in the long run

Valenath, have you tried the risk free option of Matts calculator. In the box marked cashback, put in how much you expect to get should the free bet be triggered.

Thanks Dave, I’d overlooked that feature!
