Get money out of Smarkets (withdrawing or otherwise)

  • Hi I have a bit of a problem. I have recently dabbled with match betting for the first time, but without thinking it through properly. ie the money I hastily invested isn’t disposable and I need it back. I invested about £300 to extract free bets from Bet365 and Ladbrokes, now all the funds (about £370) are all in 1 place, Smarkets.

My problem is that I live in Sweden (all accounts in SEK, the GBP amount here are just rough conversions) and only have a Mastercard. After I signed up with Smarkets and deposit with my Mastercard, I discovered that not only do Mastercards incur a 2.5% fee, but you can only withdraw up to the amount that has been deposited, namely £100 (both seem like ridiculous policies to me). Smarkets advised me to open an eWallet, to withdraw the money (Skrill), but I fear I might have the same problem with them (I have read about problems with Mastercard accounts from outside the UK with Skrill accounts, it also incurs a 7.5% fee).

I am considering putting more money into either the Bet365 or Ladbrokes account to ‘extract’ the money that way, but that of course could go the other way and mean that more money is stuck in Smarkets account. Also, I don’t have much more money available to invest.

Does anyone have a ingenius, simple and fail safe plan to get my funds back in my bank?

    Cheers, Chris

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

i would try bank transfer probably .. trouble is their bank account is in Malta so fees would apply i guess. plus will take 3-5 days to money arrive

im using Neteler with smarkets .. when you withdrawing money it takes about 12 hours then u can withdraw from ATM machine (1.75 percent fee from amount u withdraw) or u can spend it in shops, online etc for free ..
skrill has the same owner paysafe as neteller .. skrill is bit cheaper

Thanks, I hadn’t realised that was an option. Time isn’t too much of an issue and the fees aren’t too bad for a one-off (£10). I’ll do that
