I checked my devices and found the IE Snare spyware had been installed in early January – I strongly suspect it was installed by Ladbrokes

+0Jeff – I am 99% sure it was Ladbrokes who put iesnare on my laptop.
+0I think most if not all of the major bookies use this software, it has been around for many years. I listened to a recording of some professional gamblers a few weeks ago (there is a link on one of the threads on this site to it), and apparently the guy who developed the iesnare software was also responsible for developing software to enable people to see their opponents hole cards when playing on line poker.
I used to play a lot of on line poker back in the day and I vaguely recall a scandal where something like this was mentioned. I would have thought that by now the bookies would have had more sophisticated spying software written for them, I imagine though that they are just on the right side of the law and so will not face any prosecutions.
+0On a Mac go to ‘system preferences’ and click on ‘flash’. Open up ‘local storage settings by site’ and you will find ‘mpsnare.iesnare.com’. You can click to block. Don’t erase because it will just download next time you go to a betting site.
If you use chrome (any os) you can download the extension ‘Privacy Badger’ which you can sett (haha) to block the above bookie spyware – though thats no guarantee you still won’t get gubbed.

Every time I visit SkyBet they are putting iesnare on my Macbook
+0Had a look on my PC but it wasn’t there. I can only assume that my AVG ZEN software blocked it. Beauty of AVG ZEN is that it it can be loaded onto Windows/Mac/IOS on laptops, tablets or smartphones. Suggest that if thinking of buying it, only do so through the ComputerActive website where you get substantial discounts.
