Getting to know you

  • With Cheltenham coming up I expect this site to become much busier.

I think it would be a good idea if we all said a bit about ourselves.

I am 44 ,married with 2 teenage sons and work as area sales manager in the medical profession.

I enjoy most sports, until a couple of years ago played football to a decent standard, now play 5 a side.
Still play cricket and golf and like a day at the races.

Not really an out and out matchbetter but just use the offers to enhance my chances. Never lay my bets.

Anything else you want to know just ask and if its not too personal I will reply.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

I love the idea of this thread but in practice it is going to turn into matchedem vs johnd fighting over which of them has the better/most hated job.

Also ppl will love to pick up ammunition on others to sling personal insults at them at a later date.

    Anyway for what its worth.

Married, with kids ages 17 and 5! I am almost 40. Work as a CONSULTANT and can also work a lot of days remotely (ie from home). My work involves data, reports and databases. Degree in Maths Science. Watched and played football but just for fun and the playing seems to have stopped lately. I have revived my interest in watching through matched betting and have started watching other sports like horse racing and golf.

Never been a gambler, more a sports and numbers fan. Started off gathering stats on football games and trying to produce my own odds to see if I could beat the bookie. Came across some offers on Paddy Power in 2016 and I had the stats so I was easily able to check the value of the offers. For a few months built from €20 to €2000 with value punts on value offers before discovering about Dec 2016 that there was a more cautious/guaranteed way with matched betting. Still have problems laying bets at times. But here I will always try and give the “matched” betting strategies or low risk strategies to help others – even if personally I might chose not to lay some bets.

Lost most of my main accounts and never got into multi accounting so just moved on to accas as most bookies, even the small ones have this offer. All the while I’ve maintained €1,000 profit per month regardless of how many accounts I have open – but I do spend a lot of time on this, too much I think.

Gambling is an addiction. But when you always win it is sooooo much more addicting. I don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

    Just seen this topic.
Its a shame that not more people have contributed but prehaps they like me have not readily seen it.

I am 43,divorced,dont have a full time job and live in housing association accomodation.

Until 10 years ago I had a reasonable job as a stock controller but then I was struck diwn with a viral infection which took too long to be diagnosed properly. It was during this period of my life that I lost my job,my marriage and my home.

This left me very down and depressed and I went on dating sites but to try to boost my self esteem I created fictitous jobs ,wealth and cars to such an extent that I never actually met anyone as I knew my lies would be found out.

After a while my sister realised that I needed help and arranged help.

I have now got my life back on track and I still have some of those dreams I had when I was younger.

The mantra I try to live my life by is
“Its nice to be important but its more important to be nice.”

I go to the bookies for both the company and the friendship and the fact that it saves me having the heating on at home is a bonus.

Im 26 and since July have been doing this as my main source of income after giving up as a Maths teacher and HOY in a challenging secondary school in London. I did this for four years and before that went to Portsmouth University where I studied Accounting with Finance.

I invest my winnings in the stock market and play footy on Sat afternoons or watch Crystal Palace!

    I also drink alot!
