Tony – I had the same, went onto LC last night and they manually added the £10 FB after checking with their ‘Marketing Team’…

I think that works out a little bit for you Shaun. There were three tied in 5th so you only pay out one third of your liability on the exchange.. But the bookies paying out on an extra place will pay you a higher proportion…. I think. Let us know how the payouts work out.

Smarkets not paid out on place market yet. Wonder why the delay.

Mine all sorted on smarkets. I had Hatton on Sky (6th/7th) so got full payout there and the smarkets loss was a third of what it would have been had he not been tied with 2 others for 5th

All is good, just wish I wasn’t so limited on Sky my max stake was £2 and so my win only £40!

I think this is correct in my thinking correct me if I am wrong because of the caculations on te tied market drivi ng me around the bend I have taken the overall figure settled on the ew market on Smarkets as my winnings in Smarkets (as it was in green) and that would be after commission which was £109

So Smarkets £109 winnings, Betfair £65.75, William Hill £55

So overall my winnings were £208.03 less the bets that lost i.e. stake not returned £100
therefore my profit from the golf I have calculated as £108.03 i.e. 4 losing bets @ £25 I have not taken Qual loss from this or liability as the Smarkets figure is an overall one i.e after liability has been calc etc

Just need to know I am right?? If so somehow by a miracle I made £108.03 for coming tied in 5th and no idea how I was also tied outside the places with Dustin Johnson x 3, Jason Day x 8 & Jordon Speith x 6

Can anyone confirm my thinking is correct.

obviously this is just the ew calc i had qual losses on not winning not included in above calc.

Who did you have placed and what odds?

Just looked at it all again add £25 loss to above as i missed a bet out but still I reckon I made £83.03
I did look at the odds for who I backed but gave up after my eyes started to blur I am just basing my figures as follows

WInnings in SMarkets after liabilities which is uaully the case £109 plus my winning bets (not including stake returned) less my losing bet stakes which is £125

So basicaly I had a return of £208.03 less £125 = £83.08 I think this is the quickest way to calc as you don’t need to break every bet down just the overall figure.

In future have it broke down before matey. EG if Garcia is 5th I win £50 else lose £1 etc

That way its so easy afterwards to check your results. Checking overall results on a single event you have bet loads on its easy to make mistakes (and also hard to in future see the bookie/offer u made money on if u lump it as one)

@matchedem I have not got the bet lumped as 1 just a bit tired to go through my spreadsheet and with te tie on 4 golfers it was easier to calc my profit as above rather than have to calc each inidividual bet as per the Dead Heat rules on Smarkets because it is not broken down for you. I am just asking for advice on whether my thinking is correct or whether I have missed something of importance is does not matter above lay/back odds in this scenrio in my opinion just the amount of returns less the outlay of the losing bets.

Can you or anyone else see if this is flawed in anyway as an overall calculation ?

Basically 3 of them tied for 5th so you should have got back 2/3rds of your potential return on that player on smarkets.

So if i had Mcilroy £20 ew. Say the place part was 4.0/4.0.

Say my Smarkets liability on Mcilroy was £60 to gain £20 prof. I’d lose 1/3 of my liability (£20), but gain 2/3 of my potential profit (£13.33). Overall loss £6.67. But would have made a £60 profit on sky.

    So up £53.33.

@MbPunter I understand the tie on Smarkets i’m just being lazy as all my ew golfers tied some wit 8 others etc I had 4 golfers in total I am just asking can i put them all in 1 pot and calculate my overall return as I have suggested for the sake of laziness more than anything. i.e. your overall return on the EW market on SMarkets + any winnings in the bookmakers less your losing bet stakes elsewhere on the same market. Would that not give you the same return avaoiding all the calculations as per what you have posted.
