Gubbed Question

  • Hi,
I am a newbie to match betting – I started 6th Sept 17 and not done too bad since then (£130+ profit) but most of that was on sign up offers.

Im a new customer with Coral and Ladbrokes, but have been using Paddy Power for years. At the moment, Im doing most of my match betting using these three as they seem to have a lot of offers.
Coral and Ladbrokes, Coral I do the bet & get and nearly all of the in-play football offers, Ladbrokes usually the football offers.
Paddy Power – I used to regularly place £3 Lucky 15’s, and now suddenly Im betting £10 each day for 5 days in order to receive my free bet the following Monday (VIP club).

So the question – when will they realise that Im match betting and gub me? When should I be placing mug bets to keep off the radar?

    Any advice?
    Thanks

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

I don’t know when they’ll gub you but it’s a virtual certainty that it will happen at some point.

Each to their own but I would carry on hammering their offers and not worry about being gubbed. If you want to mug bet then go for it but I wouldn’t bother if the only point is to try to avoid a gubbing.

    Good luck!

I agree with Crispy. I never mug bet, I opened an account with Betway and had never used them before. But I was gubbed after just taking up the free bet. so maximum of 2 or 3 bets.
Some bookies let you get away with it for a bit longer B365, Lads, Coral, WHill have all been good to me, Sky and 888 were good but hit me in the end.

Just don’t do every offer. especially the ones when they are offering pawlty £5 free bets. Unless you don’t mind making £3 quid.

    Depends on your level.

I’m happy to be gubbed as there is always a new bookie waiting to be exploited. It’s a merit badge. A sign you are doing things right.

If you are kind of a professional level then healthy accounts are your life blood. So you need a mug betting strategy. Most of us here don’t have the time and money to lose on a real mug betting strategy.

Don’t think gubbing is the end of the world either. You just adapt. For example I am gubbed and restricted to about €2 stakes on sky and still can make about a tenner per night when I want to on their US racing. That’s probably more than I used to make on their money back offers and sky bet club.

I actually feel like they have fooled me. They pay me minimum wage to monitor their odds and highlight the ones out of sync. Probably cheaper than employing a few more traders. Sometimes I back a horse that then starts to drift on the exchange and sky still shorten the price, seemingly on my recommendation!

    Anyway, good luck!

Thanks all. I’ll see where I get with it 🙂
Had a rubbish night tonight – did the coral £10 offer on the Chelsea match – I bet on correct score 2-0, the moment I placed the £10 Chelsea scored!! Never even got my exchange bet placed. Never mind – at least I get my free bet off them tomorrow!!
    Good luck everyone
