What is the biggest threat to a matched betting income? – I would say gubbing.
What is the least focused area in matched betting? – I would say avoiding gubbings.I know some people believe gubbings happen whatever and mug betting is pointless, or maybe not a priority so read no further if that is you. But I am not sure all bookies gub, and definitely believe you can prolong and probably avoid gubbings…… afterall bookies need customers.
I am going to try and make a list of bookies, with the number of accounts and gubbings we have between us. So I’ll edit as people give me more information. If you can only give me confirmed gubbings (not ones where you didn’t get an offer so guess you are gubbed), and also a bit of background as to whether you mug bet or why you think you were gubbed may help build a picture.+0January 2, 2017 at 8:45 pm

888 – before my matched betting days didn’t like the interface so only used for offers. Made just over £300 off them before gubbed.
Coral – before my matched betting days. Again mainly did offers, but not that many and would have have had a few mug bets where they were best price. Only took them for £100 too, but had complained about a failure to honour BOG which potentially triggered my gubbing
Skybet – made about £600 off them pre matched betting which was fine. Was balancing mug betting, but hit the winner off a couple money back 2nds along with winning their risk free bet in and made a few hundred in same week which got the gubbing.
Victor chandler – took them for £275. But due to shite customer service I only really used for offers. Literally my first matched bet with them got me gubbed. I don’t believe matching was the reason, but the gubbing did happen v quickly after a bet £10 get £5 freebet offer so I think I crossed some threshold for a system generated gubbing.+0

wincashlive.Did half hearted mugging with all the above, only one that really stands out with a reason was when I placed a bet with winner for the first time in ages and Titanbet basically threw my balance at me and closed my account. guess they don’t like people to have accounts with both!
+0Lost Betfair Sportsbook on Saturday and inevitably Paddy Power on Sunday. I won big at PP on their MBS and pretty much smashed every race on both their promos for the past month with a certain degree of success.
All other accounts still active. Little to no mug betting.

Gubbed and restricted
Bet365 – Gubbed after doing the welcome offer and around 4-5 inplays (the 50 quid ones). Restricted after trying the 4/1 horse offer. Did a day of it and kept betting 50 quid and the restrictions came soon after (I didn’t even win!). Also did a lot of arbs with them a while back.
Bet Bright – did maybe 4 promos with them
Ladbrokes – did loads of offers around the Euros and gubbed near the end of them and restricted
Marathon – I don’t think I’m actually gubbed since they don’t really do offers, but my stakes are severely limited after I did loads of arbsGubbed not restricted
Bet Victor – Gubbed after maybe 4-5 offers, but can still do boosts and such
Coral – did a load of offers with them around the Euros, they were the main one I used at the time, but can only really do their occassional acca boost offers.
Paddy Power – not sure I’m restricted (don’t remember checking) but this was the first account I lost, fairly early onNot gubbed
Betfred – Restricted on boosts to 25, but can do all the offers and such. They’re my main source of offers and I’ve placed over 300 bets with them now. By far more than any others. I’ve done a crap load of horse offers, and even the greyhounds, as well as Vegas etc.
Totesport – As above although have only placed maybe 50 bets with them.
888sport – Probably the top 3 most used. I’ve gotten around 30 free bets out of them
Skybet – Top 3 most used again. Had a 500 quid Vegas win too, probably made almost a grand out of them. I get on every offer apart from the place ones. Do almost all worthwhile Vegas/Casino offers.
Bwin – Only done two offers with them. Got f’d over on a third where I wasn’t apparently eligible, so haven’t gone near since.
Stan James – done a few offers with them and boosts. No gubs yet.
William Hill – done loads of boosts with them, a lot of Vegas/Casino offers, but haven’t done the horse offers with them
Betsafe – no gubbings or anything, but they don’t do that many good offers normally..
32RedSport – Few offers when I started but they have really cut down on them, big time. Nothing in months and months.
Sunbets – Fairly new still but no gubbing yet. Done a few offers and boosts.
Super Lenny – I don’t think I’m gubbed but I did used to get a lot of offers sent to me, so maybe I am now!Only just joined so N/A
188bet – Left this one late as I’d had an account years ago and always found them a bit crap. Only done one offer so no chance to get gubbed really..
Betstars – Only just joined. Two offers in so far.
BetEast – Only just joined. Doubt I’ll ever use them again ha.Notes: I’ve done zero mug betting on any of them! Although I did mug betting on Coral when I started, which who knows if it did anything. Still got gubbed.

Almost straight after Betfair SB only did a couple of offers and am guessing cause there linked with PP now.
Betbright did the sign up and instagubbed.
Skybet did a lot of offers and a little mug betting got promo banned/stake restricted after the last football in play ban wave.
Totals, just did the weekly football £5 free bet and a odd mug.
Genting, just did the free bet for goals promo.So still have all my other accounts for now but I know it’s only a matter of time before they go too as no matter what I try I always win into the bookies so either have to withdraw or leave it in there and not deposit. I can’t truly mug bet like a normal punter without loosing profits so the clock is ticking on them all.

Paddy and Betfair Sports I had for some time before Matched betting doing my own thing. Skybet had a few mug bets thrown in but not many. The rest are pure MB and no mug bets.+0
oh yeah forgot about Betfair Sports, lost them ages ago well before the pp merger. They used to have a £200 signup bonus, so I got through that and a few 3/1 winner offers before the gub hammer descended. no idea if I am restricted or not. obviously no mugging with them and the minute I was bonus banned I started using the exchange.

Unibet – not sure yet. Had stake restrictions on a couple of offers yesterday. Live chat rep said they may hve been ‘temporary trading decisions’ as no restictions showing on account.All others ok so far. Dont really mug but do conventional horse bets so spread the love depending on price and possible add-ons ie faller refunds. second to sp favs etc

B365 x2: lost one after about 6 months, the other after about a month. Only did the signups, football risk-frees and C4/1+s.
BetBright: gubbed and restricted to 1p bets during the Euros. Account life ~ 1 month
Boyles: gubbed and restricted to 1p bets after hitting 3 MB 2nd horses in one day Account life ~ 1 week
Coral: Stealth gubbed during the Euros. I hit the Euro offers pretty hard tbf. Account life ~2 months
Skybet: gubbed after hitting a MB 2nd/3rd a couple of weeks ago. was already restricted to about £5 on the Saturday accas. Generally restricted, but the level of restriction varies. Account life ~ 5 months.
Unibet: gubbed but not restricted. Walked away with a couple of hundred several times on their free spins promos, but not sure if this contributed. Account life ~4 months.Still have around 22 acounts, some I’ve had for 8 months or more with no problems including Fred, Paddy, Lads, Hills & a second Coral account. I never mug bet, but do dutch quite frequently.

Got gubbed from sky bet a year ago whilst I took a break from match betting??? Also gubbed from paddy over a year ago after hammering their free £10 in play offers.
I also got gubbed from coral during a mass gubbing about a year ago. A month later I did an offer after receiving a promotion via email and my account has been fine with them ever since
