I always pick the 2nd favourite. Frequently (at very least once a day) it will indeed finish 2nd and i’ll get my free bet. Frequently the 2nd favourite ends up winning and then there’s often a nice bit of Best Price Guaranteed cash coming in.

I wouldn’t say BOG was often, I rarely get it..maybe I put my bets on earlier than you and therefore the 2nd fav tends to reduce in odds not increase who knows..just don’t think its that likely!
+0One question guys, I am new at this so excuse my ignorance, but is there any good timing to have the least qualifying loss? as market on a race opens, or as it is about to start? Do you usually use smarkets or betfair to lay in such racing offers? Thanks :)

Cashed – You could’ve mentioned it was including Paddy, that’s a totally different ball game as you can’t pick the fav. In which case yes I agree, the past couple of days I’ve been hitting 3/4 a day as the races have been very kind for 2nd fav to SP.

It makes no difference whether it’s Paddys or William Hill. As long as your qualifying loss is reasonable, it’s the same potential profit of a £25 free bet. The Paddys daily horses are useful because of the sheer number of races every day. I find them way more useful than the B365 offers because of the number of opportunities. On a good day you can get 4 or 5 of them come in for you.

How is it the same potential? Im sure youll find that second to anyone…is alot easier than second to the fav? Which makes the value a lot lower based on the fact you need two outcomes to happen and not just one..

Paddy Power races aren’t great today. Would look at the 4:40 in Warwick but would need the right qualifying losses to go for the 2nd fav. He is 10/11 W/O favourite which means about 50/50 chance he will either win outright or come second to SP. He is 2/1 (about 33%) to win outright which leaves about 17% of 2nd to SP. So if you can qualify for £3.40 you would expect to break even long term, anything less on your QL and your looking at long term profit.
The rest of the races there is no clear favs and big fields so you would want qualifying losses of about £1 or in some case pennies to make it more profitable than just betting on the forecast.
Agree with cashed up though, some days there are a few clear value picks on paddy power especially since it covers 2 full race meets every day.
Today is a bad example.
But as an offer Money Back 2nd is far superior!

The game could be up for me. My work has installed a new firewall which is now blocking all access to gambling sites. Even my phone connected to the work wifi will not access gambling apps.
