Just starting and already experienced issues with bookmakers

  • Hi,

My experience so far is mixed – not with your Matched Betting teachings as I am following them to the letter – but with the Betting companies.

I have very good to excellent credit rating and have neve gambled in my life , no credit card debt or debt in general in my name.

I have so far only joined and worked through Ladrokes and Coral and found the registration process quite time consuming and eventually I could only register by showing a bank statement. I also opened a new Revolut bank account to undertake all my transactions to keep it separate from my normal bank account, as you advised. Well, initially with Ladbrokes, I did everything as you said and expected to qualify for my free bets. However, nothing came through after completing the initial £10 bet. I had to contact the LIVE help and it took two days of someone investigating before my free bets were released. Then with Coral, followed your instructions, this time with the qualifying £5 bet. Again, the £30 free bets were not forthcoming. I appealed to their LIVE chat and the person investigated and stated because I paid with a Revolut debit card, my account was blocked and I did not qualify for any free bets. I suggested this was absolute nonsense as I deposited with a debit card as instructed and nowhere is it indicated that Revolut debit cards are not accepted. The representative stated that they cannot list all the banks they have an issue with!!

Is this normal? I feel I have been treated very unfairly and they are not meeting their terms. He also stated that my account would be blocked if I tried to deposit with a Revolut debit card again.

Am I going to have this issue with every bookmakers? I feel like just reverting back to my normal bank to make deposits.

    Thanks for the advice
