Ladbrokes restrictions

  • After yesterday’s England v Slovakia game ended in a draw, I got a 25 quid free bet, however this evening I seem to be heavily restricted (max winnings about 50-100 quid). I’m not gubbed as I’ve just gotten the Spain in-play bet credited, but just wondered if anyone else was having this? Someone else mentioned it on the main page, which makes me think they might have restricted quite a few accounts..

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Just got the gubbing e-mail! I assume it’s a standard gubbing e-mail. Anyone else?

    Hi James,

We wish to advise you that we are restructuring our approach to bonuses, concessions, Free Bet refunds and Best Odds Guaranteed.

As a result a number of accounts, including yours, will no longer be eligible for bonuses, concessions, free bet refunds or Best Odds Guaranteed of any kind, effective immediately.

This restriction will be included in all future terms and conditions. All other terms and conditions remain the same and we sincerely look forward to your continued custom at Ladbrokes.

Please note any pending bonuses or concessions attached to your account have also been withdrawn.

    Kind regards
    The Ladbrokes Team

I’ve got it as well. Been matched betting since April but I milked all of the offers on Royal Ascot and Euro 2016. I should’ve missed a few and mug bet a bit. I’m gutted, Ladbrokes was by far the most profitable.

I’ve not had the email but my bet stakes have been severely restricted since last night so I couldn’t do the Italy v Ireland money back if draw tonight, guess the email will come at some point.

I was pretty astonished when I signed up to Ladbrokes today to place a bed on Politics to find out that as soon as I registered I had a £0 restriction placed on the main sports section of the website.

Talked to Live Help “I have no information why/decision made by unaccountable team…yadda yadda”

I can at least understand the shitty practice of stopping people who are good at betting from winning more money, but to stop a new registration from placing ANY bets seems a little bit counter-intuitive.

I agree mega it does sound counter-intuitive, unless they have access to information that suggests to them you are a matched bettor. I don’t know how they would have got this information (perhaps iesnare) as you have just signed up with them. I would not be surprised if you are not the only one they have done this to, I have read similar accounts to yours on forums from people who have just signed up to bookies (not just Laddies) and been immediately restricted.

What all these people have in common though, is that they were matched bettors, who frequent forums such as this, and who would end up taking money from the bookies.

These are not the type of people bookies want, and I suppose if we were bookies we wouldn’t want them either. Don’t get me wrong, I’m am certainly not on the side of bookies, and have absolutely no sympathy for them.

I think I have placed a bet maybe once before a couple of years ago for £10. I’m basically not a gambler but decided on a whim last night to place a bet.

The only things that could possibly contribute are that I signed up through Quidco and that I put my deposit limit at £20. Perhaps they simply want me to immediately give up and withdraw my funds so they can refuse the Quidco sign up bonus at which point they will remove the limit knowing if I ever want to make a bet with them again I wont get a ‘new member’ bonus. Sounds just about shifty enough to be something a bookmaker would do.
