Laying acca legs all at once

  • Firstly hi, I’ve just subscribed to this site having enjoyed reading it for a couple of weeks.

I’m new to matched getting and have made a little bit of profit with sign ups. I’ve started getting into accumulators, laying them off leg by leg in the hope of a bit of profit or a refund if one leg fails (or both).

Im a statistician and have been playing around with methods for determining lay values to be able to lay all legs up front so you can have overlapping matches and don’t have to worry about lay odds swinging.

I was wondering if anybody out there had any success doing anything similar? If so would be good to discuss and share ideas.

    Cheers

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

It’s not possible for all scenarios but is for some, particularly close matches with very low odds (below 1.2). The profits are small though unless you hit 2 or more losers.

Can you explain how that’s possible?

I’ve been trying a few different approaches and so far it’s inconsistent which is why I posted to get others opinion since I wanted to gauge whether it’s worth spending time pursuing.

If I find anything positive I’ll post some examples.

Depending on the odds you could end up with small profits from laying all results on an acca, but from the tests I’ve done you would only get profit if.

All teams won or more than 2 teams lost. Your losses would potentially be minimised if you get a free bet on one tram losing but unless the odds are right or your laying in play after goals in your favour I would echo Jez, not possible.

Of course the more teams in your acca the more you have to lay and the more results would have to go wrong for you to profit.

My tests have been with trebles and quads

    Thanks for the input Mark.

With Low odds and close matches there can be profit (often small with 0-1 loss) with all scenarios (0-6 losses) on a sixfold if there is a free bet. This has been helped largely from the current win bonuses from bookies.

I would agree though that long term profits are questionable and better value would probably be had from not laying at all as you have suggested in some of your posts.

Laying all the legs at once is, of course, an acceptable strategy. In general, it will reduce the variance for each accumulator. However, it is not possible to fully eradicate risk with this approach – the events are independent after all.

It is possible – Google accumulator generator. £150 and it will show you the best matches to do and it has a function to show you how much you’ll earn by laying all at the same time. Usually smaller profit for all wins and 1 loss but large wins with anything else.
