Liability on Smarkets

  • Hi, just a quick question. When i have enough funds on my Smarkets account to cover the liability, i then place my bet. Whilst the bet has been placed, the liability is still in play. Once i have enough in my account to place the bet is that all i need to cover my bet? I don’t need to deposit anymore to cover this do i because it is already in play until the bet is settled?

    Thanks

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

The liability is the amount you stand to lose if your lay bet loses. You must have enough funds in your account to cover the liability of a lay bet at the time of placing it. Those funds will remain tied up until the outcome has been decided. You’ll either lose the liability if your lay bet loses or it will be returned to your balance plus the backer’s stake if your lay bet wins.

    I hope that helps Jake.
