Managing winnings

  • How have people found the easiest way to do the following?

I obviously want to win through my exchange, and lose through my real bookmaker accounts, to not arouse suspicion. However, I have recently won big several times in a row in one of my real bookmaker accounts. I dont want to withdraw it all, but find it very hard to “lose” it as I keep winning. I have other bookmaker accounts I can also cross bet and try lose it that way too but obviously exposed to higher qualifying losses.

Just wondering if this happens to a lot of people and how they go about it. Should i focus on losing 10 euro at a time on high odds, or try lose high amounts at a time on shorter odds, but risk winning those higher amounts in the account I don’t want them.
    Thanks

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

There’s no right or wrong way here Julien, it’s just personal preference.

I like to throw a few mug bets in there from time to time, which may help you shift some. To be honest though, if you need to use the funds elsewhere, don’t be afraid to withdraw some. Mug punters will withdraw funds every now and again. I would just try and avoid doing it too often.

Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about it greatly, I’ll tell you my experience, for what it’s worth.

I recently had a ‘losing streak’ at Paddy Power, and by that I mean not a single bet won there through August or September, I think the account looked about £600 down.

Conversely, my bet365 at the same time, through the world cup and into the new season just kept on winning, hitting 2ups etc, I was withdrawing £500, £600, £800.

Anyway, as of now, my Paddy account has been gubbed, and bet365 is going strong as ever, I’ve also noticed on my other accounts that the ones I withdraw regular large amounts from are fine, I think it’s more based in the type of bets you are taking rather than the actual money in there.

You are likely betting £50 winning £200, this is a big win for a £2 bet but not for a £50 bet, so they only really pay attention to the ratio of deposits/withdrawals, rather than the amount in my opinion.

The thing is if you’re taking value you’ll always be in profit with the bookie long term, you can’t plan to lose money to exchange other than short term variance….. or doing it so much you lose all winnings!
And because you are taking value you will be gubbed long term

There’s various theories on mug betting, withdrawals etc but nothing proven.

What I would say is be careful about any ‘mug’ betting you do, particularly if trying to lose using longer odds horses. The fact you’ll be searching for close matches at exchange means you’ll be picking prices that the bookie may be about to cut….the last thing you want to do is back a 40-1 shot thinking it will lose and it had SP of 8-1!
