Money Back 2nd etc. – Worth the bother?

  • With so much going on, time management is going to be important. Will MB 2nd and variations just generally be a re-hash of the normal daily “promotions”( which aren’t particularly good odds-wise)?. Sky, Betway possible exceptions, but low stakes so don’t spend time. (FWIW I’d punt). Hills Higher5 may be ok, depending on odds.

While you are spending time looking for them and low QL you’ll probably be missing some good boosts and ew arbs.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

My tips concentrate on boost arbs early in the morning…once these die down u can get all your mb 2nd and faller bets on…potentially even just before the race

Spread enough and some will get trod in

My first Cheltenham using exchanges, but –

I think the straight up mb2nds with no stipulations on winning distance or who they come 2nd to are always worth considering.
With more liquidity I’m hoping they’ll be easier to get on- did my first last night at 4.5/4.7
Also will there be much each way arbing opportunity? Obviously be great if there is, but not sure how much there would be

Yes worth it I think sleepless.

I found last year liquidity good so you can get some back and lays done the night before.

For sky bet offer to save time you can punt the qualifying bet if it loses then you get 80% back by extracting the free bet value. If it wins then ££££.

I think it will be great for e/w arbs. A lot of bookies will be doing enhanced terms on a number of races.

    Fair enough Fog.
If you can get good odds well before the meetings start then fair enough. If you have to wait for decent back/lay odd just before race then these MB2nds etc would just get in the way. Wasn’t around for Chelt last year, good to know great for the arbs.

With you about punting the Sky, Betway money back offers.

Just have to see how it goes – will need careful exchange management too. Couple of good bookie wins and your exchange funds could get tied up (unless you’re rich like Matchie)

Will be getting all my guaranteed returns out the way during the morning, happy to take the guaranteed profit with multiple accounts in play

If i didnt hit anything i would just be annoyed, plus a few of the opening races i fancy the favourites anyway

We get 40 minutes between races but that time for me is arbs and the markets that you need to lay nearer the race

First cheltenham. Are price boosts the best source of profit – should these be the focus? Or is it the money back specials like Sky bet or PP?
