have i got this correct?

bet £20, and lay on a correct score, say chelsea 1:0, just to qualify for the promotion
place an additional lay bet against the draw at odds of (currently) 3.45 at around £8

if match finishes as a draw:
You lose the correct score back bet, but get the £20 stake returned, and your correct score lay bet wins
you lose the draw lay bet, at a cost of £20
profit – whatever the correct score lay bet was, say £17-18

if the match doesn’t finish a draw:
you dont get the £20 stake returned
your extra lay bet against the draw comes in at £8

so your guaranteed at least £8?

yes, i have cocked up on my calculations!

the smallest qualifying loss i could manage from the £20 back bet was £2.88.

Laying against the draw at 3.45, a £5.65 stake would create a £13.84 liability.

so a draw would result in £20 returned, less £2.88 QL, less £13.84 loss on the lay bet = £3.28 profit

no draw would result in no returned stake, the £2.38 QL, plus £5.65 profit on the lay = £3.27 profit.

might just leave it and hope for draw after 90 mins.
