My matched betting career is over

  • I’ve finally had enough. Currently withdrawing all funds. Got some money tied up in the Euros but not a great deal.

I’ve made £130 this month, mostly from Royal Ascot, and I’ve just totally lost enthusiasm for it.

I’ll still check out my emails for any really easy deals. Deposit bonuses and the like, but doubt I’ll make much of an effort.

Just thought I’d hit you with some statistics………..

    Start date – 10/09/15
    Profit – £3,957.72
    Total bets – 1465
Total cost of back bets – £33,939.66
Most profitable bookie – William Hill (£672.15)
    2nd profitable bookie – Skybet (£542.47)

Biggest loss in one bet – £100 (was playing with fire and got burnt)

Number of gubbed accounts – 10

Bookies that lost the most money to me:
    BET365 – £2,538.01
    Will Hill – £1,024.28
    Netbet – £937.00

Bookies that made the most from me:
    Totesport – £500
    10bet – £255

    Biggest profit in one bet – £68.87 (Bet365 Risk free £50 in-play)

Total amount of free bets used – £4,293.00

    Most profitable month – Dec15 – £694.25

Hours spent looking for offers, on this forum, thinking about betting = TOO MANY!

This forum has totally died over the last couple of months. But it’s been great, and I wish everyone the best of luck.

I might still check it out once in a while, but its game over for now.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

doing the same ice magic, currently at £155 for the month not worth it for me anymore I don’t even bother with the free bets like bet 5 get 5 anymore.

Started June 15 – profit £7,851, most profitable month December 15 £1,001.(those wills hills in play offers x 2)

Had quite a few dual accounts(wife) but now gubbed on most of these.

funny enough still have bet 365,betfair,betfred,sky,coral and both stan james & unibets.

Think the big reductions in profits first started with gubbings and the ch4 racing changing the offer to mbs to short price fav!

Will still do the bet365 in plays as easy £35 -40 quid there:)

Good luck everyone and will miss the banter with the old school lot, Ryan,Chris, ice magic both Tony’s.

QPR are still the best, just been sleeping for a season and will rise and be the new Leicester in 2 years!

sorry its over for you ice, thanks for the info though what spreadsheet system did you use to get it all, ive seen a few you can use but they look very complicated but the data you get might be worth it.

I see you have taken bookies for a lot of money maybe contributing to gubbings( another post going on about this debate atm im a believer in do not withdraw unless you really have too).

Have you thought about arbing your gubbed accounts until it really is all over?

    Hi Danny

I did arb a couple of accounts but it didn’t last long. Was a load of stress too trying to do things so quickly.

I have taken a stack of cash from the bookies. I think that’s probably the main reason for gubbings. The silly thing is, if I had never laid a bet I would have doubled my profits to over £8k!!

The spreadsheet I downloaded from a website. Doubt I’d find which one. Was very good though and I modified it to do a few extra things. It’d a calculator for lay stakes & profit etc and then when you press the button it puts all the data on a results tab.

Kjillman, you got nearly double my profit! But I never multi accounted.
Such a shame I didn’t start all this a year earlier

Think Cheltenham was the best time on here

How was so much money made from william hill? I’m relatively new to matched betting, but I haven’t seen many money making opportunities from them yet?

Back in December they went crazy with offers. It was £45-50 per week guaranteed!

Just need Ryan now to admit the game’s over and that MB is dead.

Yeah, mine’s almost over before it has started.
I’m quite new to this and have realised what a waste of time it is scratching around looking for where to lay £5 free bets etc.
Will exhaust welcome offers (excluding those with ridiculous turnover requrements) and then just do 365’s cash give away.

I have made 1000’s on the stock market in a fraction of the time so why bother with matched bets?.

Patrick its dead depending on your situation, i’m sure there are some people out there with lots of family/friends that can make quite a lot helping others and taking a cut or as such (obviously this isn’t available to everyone) As i’m sure many people will agree with me, we all made hay whilst the sun shined and I think we have all purchased lots of nice things/holidays etc with our profits. I doubt there are many people out there who thinks bits been a waste of time and regret making a lil extra cash on the side.

But anyway, sorry to see you go Ice enjoy your profits all the best mate

Cheltenham week was the best for me, over £1000 was made that week alone. I would definitely recommend people who are stopping matched betting, should try come back for the major horse festivals etc!

Should have worded that differently as I have no clue about horses, maybe just Cheltenham then haaha as all bookies go crazy for that!

Sorry to see you go Ice, you were always a regular contributor of offers on the forum.
I still don’t buy into this theory that matched betting is dying, bet365 have done two £50 inplay offers within the 1st week of the Euros, bwin had a similar offer, plus lots of great price boosts and enhancements. I’m sitting at £950 for the month, I’m finding more value in extra place offers than trying to hit 2nd/3rd refunds. I’d also highly recommend oddsmonkey each way matching software, handy to use on your gubbed accounts.

made 400 over ascot, matched betting is fine, there were alot less offers this year for ascot due to the fact euros are running at the same time. Patrick your posts about match betting are boring your dont need to keep posting you narrow view on it (especially when you double post) Do you even still do any matched betting?
