New starter question

  • Hi guys firstly I’m really impressed by some of the comments on this blog, there’s some v knowledgeable people out there so I wonder if someone would answer a couple of questions I have. I’m keen to get involved in matched betting as I see it as a good way of earning some extra income if done properly.

Firstly (and I know this is a common question) I’m a little unsure about how much to invest straight away. Ideally I wouldn’t want to put more than £50 into this until I start seeing some decent returns. I’ve heard that is a typical starting figure.

I’ve also heard it’s good to use with the £20 free Coral bet as a qualifying bet if you invest £5.

My question then involves when you use the free £20 coral bet and match it on the exchange – I’ve heard to cover this you need to have about £100 in the exchange account to cover the liability. Hence you’d really need about £120+ to start off. Have I just got the wrong end of the stick or is there a way to do this with just £50?

My second question involves withdrawals – what do people tend to do about withdrawing money and how often? In the coral £20 example when you’ve made whatever it is you’ve made do you then withdraw immediately or leave it in there? I’m only thinking if you left it in there and moved on to the next new offer you did need to dip into more savings to cover it.

I’m probably over complicating it but would be grateful if someone could explain how that stage works in practise!

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

You’ll struggle to get any kind of decent returns as you put it by only having £50.

You say investing, but this is risk free so all you’re doing is giving yourself a ‘float’ (think going into the supermarket and having to have the correct amount of change, they won’t sell s**t), that said as long as you are careful, otherwise it can go down the pan.

To get through the easiest of easy sign up offers you need at least £200 for good quali matches. (DO NOT DO ROLLOVER OFFERS). Thing is, it’ll be slow going as with that much you’ll be going one bet at a time.

Withdrawing you will have to do if bets win at the bookies. Again though this takes time (sometimes 5 days to transfer into bank) and make it feel like you’re earning nothing.
