Newbie – Unsure on how to start

I’ve been looking in to matched betting, but I’m not sure how to start as such
How do I know what a qualifying bet would be? I mean, it says you make the laybet and the back bet, but how would that in itself give me a..free bet?
I’m super confused. Sorry for what is probably a fairly stupid question!
If I earn £500-£1000/month, then I could afford a HP elitebook x360 G2 in..two to four months, which would be fantastic!
