Paid subscription (Oddsmonkey) or match your own?

Hi all

When I did this a year or so ago I used Oddsmonkey to find all the best promotions and utilise all the excellent tools and software. When times got tough due to the pandemic I had to cancel, but now that I am getting back into it, I wondered what your thoughts are?

I have tried matching myself using the calculator on here and it was ok, but difficult to reduce qualifying losses to an acceptable amount.

I would like to know what others do and how they get best value (ie near 80% return on the free bet).

Any helpful information would be great.

Hi Hamish,

This is a matter of personal preference, and each option has pros and cons.

The tools at OddsMonkey are great. They make finding suitable odds a lot easier, but it’s not an absolute necessity if you need to keep your costs down.

If you take the best odds/value all the time, it’s likely to draw unwanted attention from the bookmakers. That’s not to say you shouldn’t use their tools; it’s just something to bear in mind when using them. Not placing your bets at the best odds helps your account health and reduces your chances of being gubbed/restricted.

I’ve recently added some new features to MBB, which are entirely free to use. There’s the Matched Betting Academy for those just starting out on their matched betting journey. There’s also the Reload Offer Calendar for those who have completed the sign up offers and are looking to continue making regular profits.
