Scammers?

  • Following on from Ryan’s post about getting effectively scammed by BetBright, has anyone else had a terrible experience with a bookie and would like to warn the rest of us about it?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

I did the Betbright offer last month, 24th January to be exact and no problem with them.

Bwin refused me the £30 sign up bonus (I think it was that) stating I “hadn’t signed up through the correct channels”. It was ridiculous as I followed the correct links, and followed the terms and conditions perfectly. I got a bonus of about £6 instead, but felt like a massive waste of time.

Off the top of my head, the only one that I’ve actually had any trouble with that I have tackled.

Wouldn’t say scamming as such but I found betsafe to be problematic. Register, deposit, oh yea no problem, take your money alright. But when I went to withdraw…. NOW they want to see documentation. Hence a lot of hastle e mailing documents . Took about 4 attempts too because the photos weren’t clear enough for them.

I’ve done the betbright offer and had no problems still use them for the odd offer, Tonybet was my nightmare bookie 200 deposit 100 bonus, I don’t do the all in one bet technique awful if it goes the other was so I do 25s and 50s and odds 2.5 to 3, using oddsmonkey to find closest bets but only use well known leagues. Anyways about 150 left to go they restrict my bets to about 10£ per match so in the end took forever and a lot of work to make about 40quid not worth the time and worry.

Wouldn’t consider as a scam, but Interwetten limited me to a return of €20 after having taken some of the their customer bait odds. Pretty understandable though, since some of their odds are significantly higher than the average odds of a competitive bookie.

I’ve heard the same about marathon bet and 1xbet (not sure if they even have promotions worth considering).
